Horchata with Oatmilk Premiere Shines Bright with Star-Studded Guests& Latino Community Trailblazers

North Hollywood, CA – April 2, 2025 – The highly anticipated premiere of Horchata

with Oatmilk lit up the famous El Portal Theatre last night, bringing together an

incredible mix of Hollywood stars, community leaders, and influential Latino leaders for

a celebration of independent filmmaking at its finest.

Created and written by The Watche, Johnny Murrilo of, Chicano Hollywood and

produced by Echosworld, this self-funded passion project is more than just a comedy—

it’s a testament to perseverance, storytelling, and the power of community. The

premiere welcomed an enthusiastic audience, including cast members Doknow, Jerry

Garcia, Concrete, Anthony L. Fernandez, Xochitl Guzman, J Valentino, and

Alexander Gibson who brought their signature energy to the red carpet and the

screen.

Among the distinguished guests were community leaders, entertainment industry

professionals, and key figures in the Latino creative space, all showing their

support for a film that highlighted themes of gentrification, cultural identity, and the

everyday humor that connects us all. The night was filled with excitement, laughter, and

a deep appreciation for the impact of independent Latino storytelling in Hollywood.

Director Christian Leyva took the stage after the screening, expressing gratitude for

the unwavering support of the community of family, friends and collogues. “This film

started as an idea. A way for us to create something for us by us. Seeing it come to life

tonight, surrounded by our people is powerful,” said Leyva.

In true comedic fashion, the filmmakers played an April Fool’s joke on the public by

announcing that the movie was available for free on their website—only for fans to

quickly realize they had been duped. However, as a reward for their enthusiasm, the

team offered exclusive pre-sale tickets for an online screening, allowing audiences to

watch Horchata with Oat Milk from home starting April 20th.

With a packed theater, roaring laughter, and a standing ovation, Horchata with Oat Milk

has officially made its mark in the comedy culture of movie making. As the film
